By now you probably know plaid is huge for fall. But technically, summer's not over—and I'm already getting sick of the trend.
Last night I stopped by Nylon's TV Issue Launch Party with the cast of 90210. The new Bev Hills crew looked hot; I especially loved AnnaLynne McCord's skintight cutout number. But the rest of the crowd? Yawn. Sure, there were some cute outfits, but I'd never witnessed so many Mary-Kate Olsen wannabes.
And it's not just in Los Angeles! Last night, Gossip Girl's Jessica Szhor (left) paired Topshop plaid with skinnies at a New York Fashion Week kickoff fete, and normally polished Julianne Moore went for a "country girl in the city" look at this morning's Generra presentation.

Apparently, nothing comes between fashionistas and their Calvin. On Sunday, Calvin Klein celebrates its 40th anniversary just as New York Fashion Week revs up. While the designer may be known for his minimalist touch, the party will be anything but: Architect John Pawson created a temporary structure alongside New York City's High Line, a project dedicated to transforming the West Side's elevated railway into a public park and promenade. Guests will get a sneak peek of the development while dressed to the nines, of course.
To honor the milestone, we're taking a look back at some of our favorite CK moments—including this controversial ad of young Kate Moss—in mystyle's 40 Years of Calvin gallery.

I always see arms filled with cute bangles and bracelets in magazines. Every time I attempt to do this look it just looks like I threw a bunch of random bracelets on my arm. Are there certain bangles and bracelets I should buy?

It's so great that Christina finds inspiration in eight-month-old son Max, but does she have to let him pick out her outfits? The psychedelic pattern is very Romper Room, the mile-high heels look like something out of Dr. Seuss and the plunging top… well, no infant likes to be too far from his food source.

In Fashion Rocks magazine, Justin Timberlake actually brags about bringing trailer trash back. "It's funny. I keep hearing Ashton Kutcher say how he was responsible for trucker caps," he says. "Trace [Ayala, his best friend and the co-owner of his clothing line, William Rast] and I were wearing them when we were seventeen."
We're not so sure this is a trend anyone should admit to wearing, let alone creating. And we're hoping none of the models will wear trucker hats during the William Rast New York fashion show on Sunday night. But one thing's for certain: Justin really rocked this fedora at the MTV Video Music Awards back in 2002. Now as for those giant satin cuffs...

Jouer Cosmetics says users can customize its line, thanks to innovative packaging that interlocks. You just slide the pieces together for the perfect palette. Here's our take.
Pros: The interlocking feature kept the makeup organized.
Cons: The pieces were very hard to open. I broke a nail trying to get into an eye shadow!

Blake Lively usually follows the shopping patterns of her Gossip Girl alter ego, Serena (think Chanel, Gucci, Celine and every other high-end designer). So imagine our surprise when the young star stepped out in this chambray dress on her way to The Tonight Show with David Letterman. Granted, Lively paired it with insanely expensive Louboutins—but her frock, from Alpinestars' new women's collection, retails for only $68! We're starting to order the edgy steals online now, before they hit stores.

It's time to throw out the rule that only skinny girls can wear horizontal stripes. Sure, these thin lines add curves to Nicky Hilton's long and lean frame, but worn correctly, this trend can work for women who are bigger than a size 2. The trick is to make sure the horizontal stripes hit the places you want to stand out. Take inspiration from America Ferrera and Tia Mowry, who accentuate their busts with parallel lines, leaving the rest of the body full of zigzag and vertical patterns. An empire or cinched waist also helps ensure the desired hourglass silhouette.
