Ask Style: What Are the Keys to a Killer Oscar Party?

Moet Party Pack
Style Spy Says: Berry

I'm thinking of throwing an Oscars viewing party. Got any tips?

Why, I most certainly do! For starters, let's talk fashion. I love dressing up as much as the next girl, but not everyone has a closet full of Marchesa gowns. Unless you're certain your guests share your passion for getting decked out in diamonds and chiffon, skip the red carpet dress code.

Fashion stylist Reinaldo Irizarry, who you can see on the Stylist Stand-Off challenge during E!'s pre-Oscar red carpet coverage this Sunday, suggests writing "No Crocs Allowed" on your invite. "It will hint to your guests to dress nice."

And if you're attending a party, this isn't the time to test-drive those new four-inch stilettos. "Play it safe with sensible shoes," Reinaldo adds. "You don't know if you will be standing or seated—and for how long."

As for refreshments…

Moët & Chandon has made the most adorable limited edition Party Packs ($38.95), which are sold online and at wine and spirits stores nationwide. They include mini bottles of bubbly and flutes that screw on for easy sipping. Plus, the packaging doubles as an ice bucket.

For an extra special touch, treat your guests to the same Golden Glamour cocktails that A-listers will be sipping on the red carpet and inside the Governor's Ball. And don't forget to give everyone something to much on! Moët & Chandon entertaining ambassador Katie Lee's Chinese Five-Spice Kettle Corn is a quick and easy finger food. "I make it to enjoy with cocktails and also package it up in takeout boxes for a party favor for my guests," she says.

Enjoy! And don't forget to check out mystyle.com after your party for Oscar red carpet reviews, trends, get-the-look guides and party pics.

Golden Glamour
4 oz. Moët & Chandon Imperial Champagne
¼ oz. Navan
1½ oz. passionfruit juice
Combine all ingredients in a champagne coupe glass. Top with fresh sprig of mint for garnish.

Katie's Chinese Five-Spice Kettle Corn
¾ cup popcorn
¼ cup canola oil
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Chinese five-spice powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

In a pot with a tight-fitting lid over medium heat, combine popcorn, oil, sugar, 5 Spice powder, and salt. Shake constantly. When popcorn begins to pop, lower heat to medium-low. Continue to shake until popping begins to slow and transfer to a bowl. Drizzle with melted butter. Makes 6-8 servings.
