Big Rich Texas Season Premiere: Bon Blogs
Sun., Feb. 19, 2012 7:00 PM PST by Bon Blossman
The pretty professor from Big Rich Texas has a lot to say about the new season. Read on!
I was excited to attend the annual cocktail party to catch up with how everybody's summer panned out and see how the country club had changed with the renovations. I also was dying to see how things would change around the club with Leslie as a co-owner (insert maniacal laughter here). I wasn't excited to see Pam, but I wanted to be with my other friends—so having to endure a visual dose of Pam wasn't enough to keep me away that night.
All I have to say about what happened at the cocktail party is…before you start casting stones, make sure you don't live in a glass house. I swear, if I ever try to defend my friends, the malevolent Pam screams at me!
Why do you care about somebody's finances? What is your obsession? Are you having issues yourself or something and don't want anybody looking at you? What "businesses" do you own, my frenemy? Hmmmm? (Insert huge smile here.) I hereby nickname Pam "Queen Deflector."
In retaliation, I am guilty of unleashing a few mean (but true) comments at the cocktail party, because I don't take anybody's bull. Her husband came to her defense that night and verbally attacked me, so I figure I was paid back triple for the comments I made to Pam. My husband would never go after a woman like that, by the way. Whatever! It happens. Stay tuned.
Pam calls me fake, fake, fake, but I admit to everything I do cosmetically. If that makes me a target for mean people, so be it. I have not had any surgery or anything major done to my face, and I would admit it if I had and will in the future when I do. I don't even get lip injections anymore. If someone calling me "plastic" has actually had multiple surgeries and gets more Botox than fairies produce dust, wouldn't that be hypocritical? Stay tuned this season for more on that subject.
I hadn't spoken to Leslie in a while because of summer vacation and starting work on my new novel series, Fiona Frost—a teen criminal investigator. While I'm writing, I lose track of time in my house cave and forget that I even have friends. I was so eager to see Leslie again and thrilled to see her new abode, as I knew she had moved from the mansion but wasn't sure why. When I arrived at Leslie's residence, I was surprised to drive up to a multi-family spot, but I knew Leslie would have a reason for being there. I mean, you don't typically go from a ginormous mansion to a small condominium on a whim. Leslie explained that she was going back to her "green" Seattle roots, and I respect her for that. Makes sense to me, and I give mad respect. As far as Leslie not investing in the club—it's her money, and what she does with it isn't anybody's business. If she eats her money, nobody should care. Well, maybe the government would, but the country club folks certainly shouldn't. I can't stand judgmental people! Who cares about how much money a person has, anyway? If Leslie does open a Pilates studio, I'll be taking plenty of classes there.
DeAynni seems like a cool chica. I'm always super happy to meet new (nice) people. The more nice people at the club, the better! I just hope she is truly nice and not a back-stabbing psycho. I love friends who are truly what they say they are. I guess we will see! I see why Connie would be upset about her taking over on party planning for the pheasant hunt, but DeAynni did a fabulous job. I thought it was funny that we all had such a wide range of fashion for the same event. I enjoyed it, and if people have a problem, they should make rules on what to wear. Oh hell, uniforms for that matter! I remember not feeling well at this event and wasn't too sad that I had to stay back with Whitney. I don't like shooting animals or being around hunters. Birds are not nuggets! I go to the pheasant hunt for the social aspect of it.
As for Whitney and Tyler, I try not to get in the middle of my daughter's relationships. That is why I tried to stay neutral about Tyler and not be dragged into the abyss of drama. I didn't want Whitney to Sherlock Holmes Leslie, because it seemed like a waste of effort. I really don't care what Leslie owns. There's no requirement to be my friend other than honesty with me personally and to not mess with my kids. You mess with my kids, that's where I might go psycho. And I think 99.9 percent of mothers might agree with my line of thought on that.
We all have our vicissitudes in life, and sometimes misunderstandings or mishandled situations sprinkle in the mix. I ended my friendship with Leslie at the pheasant hunt because Whitney was hurt that Tyler professed not to have liked her in the first place when they started dating and only dated her because Leslie instructed him to. The social-status thing is a stretch since I'm not on the top of the social ladder nor do I want to be. However, I suppose I'd be a rung in the ladder if that were true. Nevertheless, I do have more than my share of friends and my own sense of power, but in the end, maybe when you look at a situation from all sides of the prism, the light isn't really all that fractionated? (Hmmm, raising pinkie finger to chin and looking pensive.)
Leslie is a great person with a good heart, so stay tuned on this issue.
It is difficult for me to see Kalyn going for the Miss America title. She is a beautiful girl, but in my opinion, she doesn't fit the mold in more than one way.
Now, since I attended university for 10 years and earned a BS, MS and a PhD, in addition to completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship, I am an authority on academia. Hannah is a lovely young woman and she is good friends with Whitney and can use some academic guidance from a true scholar such as myself. I completely understand that Hannah's parents would be very upset if she didn't pursue an education at a respected university. However, a transfer school is nothing to be ashamed of and is a step in the right direction for anybody not enrolled at university. It's a great way to maintain a GPA, reduce costs and adjust to the college life during the first years. I didn't do it this way, but millions of people do and get great success with this route. Whitney was in community college and was doing quite well. (It's ironic how things come back to bite you, because Pam had made comments about Whitney in the past as if she weren't a real college student when she attended community college.)
I actually have taught a class or two at most of the community colleges here in Dallas, and I give the same lectures and exams as I would at the university level. Therefore, you do get a quality education at community college. A degree is a degree if the career path you are seeking requires a degree. If you want your education to be competitive with others, transfer into a university for your junior year. It's easy to transfer into most universities. In the end, it is the diploma on the wall that reflects your accomplishments.

3. I think you are a fantastic friend. It's also interesting to me how you are a paradox in some ways. You have this demeanor that appears like you are just a timid, pretty lady with simple thoughts, when in fact, you are a strong, well educated woman that loves being playful and looking your best. I'm not sure if Leslie is guilty of what she was being accused of, but I hope it all works out for the best. I would absolutely hate being around some of those people you have to film with on this show. They are so toxic and unattractive inside and out. Stay amazing and sweet.

4. Bonnie, you are the best on the show. When you told off Leslie, I was like * Yeah Buddy!!!! Leslie you finally got what you deserve." What Leslie made Tyler do to Whitney was bull****. You and Whitney RULE!!!!!<3<3<3

6. Bonnie you by far are the ONLY one I even remotely like. Screw Pam. She is trash! I wish nothing but the worst in life for her, and she is making her daughter a mini her, so beware. You do need to teach Whitney about class. You don't want her becoming trashy. There is a fine line. Research Leslie! All she does is lie!!!

8. Bonnie * Whitney...you two rock! You truly are one of the coolest on the show and I know you want to believe Leslie is who she say she is, but she's too conflicting for me. She has a story to back up everything...that whole "going green" is a bunch of BS...she couldn't afford the rent on that mansion that she had you thinking she'd purchased until it came out she was renting. That should've been your red-flag right there, but I see you're one who give people the benefit of the doubt...which is cool. Now surely after she put her son up to dating your daughter you have to feel a way about her hurting your daughter, which you stated, but anybody who goes through that extent to "fit in" is definitely someone I wouldn't trust.

9. Love you Bonnie esp. after this season's premiere. Who wouldn't want to be your friend? Unlike the others you have compassion for animals, intelligence, a carefree manner and dare to just be yourself. Maybe SoCal is where you really belong. Lol! I totally agree about the "deflector" title you've bestowed on Pam (see my comment on her blog). For shame is all I can say to Mr. Pam. Regarding Hannah, it sounds as if she is going to Santa Monica City College. If my guess is right this a wonderful community college, one of the best.

11. I didn't know if anyone noticed, but the listing showed about Leslie's house, but it said it was sold in 2005 but built in 2007. I just thought it was weird. Either way, I love to watch Bonnie and Whitney.

12. I'm sooo happy Whitney got rid of that "box of rocks" Tyler! He isn't even good looking so I'm not sure how he's a model??? Whitney needs a guy who can keep her on her toes and actually has a personality! Any-Who I love you two sassy ladies but keep you're eyes open with Leslie I haven't trusted her since season one and as much as I hate to admit it I have to agree with Pam about her. At least Pam was upset about what Tyler did to Whitney so she can't be all the bad of a person. I was pretty happy to see that since all she does is take jabs at you both. I'm glad Whitney and Hannah are able to have a good friendship even though Bonnie and Pam fight non-stop it shows class! ***

13. Don't let any of those ladies push your buttons Bonnie! You are by far my favorite lady on the show. I hope your kindness will rub off on the other ladies. They need it!

14. I like the show and I don't usually watch reality shows. The daughters seem a lot more down to earth than the mothers. Bonnie is the exception, she seems to know there's more to this world than the country club. But I would love to smack some sense into Whitney. That girl is a stereotypical spoiled rich brat! I'm not sure how she failed to inherit any of her mother's brains and good sense

15. Bonnie and Whitney what Leslie and Tyler did was mean. Even though you don't like Pam at least she is honest to you.
