Changing Lives, Onscreen and Off
Fri., Nov. 13, 2009 11:00 AM PST by Jeannie Mai
Every amazing person in the picture above came together through a show intended to change the lives of others. Here we are, on a Sunday afternoon, hoping to save the lives of so many more.
Last weekend, the family, friends and team of How Do I Look and the Style Network joined together to participate in the 2009 Heroes of Hope Race for Research brain tumor awareness walk. I was so glad I was wearing my sunglasses, because I kept tearing up in disbelief that the people who made it out or supported were my coworkers.
I had gotten sick that morning and arrived a few minutes after the race started, so I parked a bit ahead and began walking toward the racers to meet them head-on. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to find the few individuals from our show, not sure how many had shown up. As I walked through scattered groups of unrecognizable people, I suddenly began seeing clusters of these gorgeous faces in these bright yellow shirts. Yup, as I looked closer, sure enough—the shirts read How Do I Look?, and I squealed over how many made it out!
I still can't believe it...all people I know through work, behind the scenes of a television show. I don't take it for granted that I can work long hours with the same people only to look forward seeing them all again on my day off. But there we were, joining about 500 runners and walkers to raise a total amount of $45,000! It was such a fantastic feeling to know that every little bit of effort together brings us toward a beautiful goal.
I'm so proud to be a part of Style Network, who placed us in the top three of major donators! Thank you, Style! And thank you to each and every individual pictured here who took every second to make it all happen.

1. Hi Jeannie! I am only 11 and I love style! I think it's great that even though you are famous, you still want to help. Keep it up and I can't wait to see a new episode of How Do I Look!

2. Jeannie, my wife(Darla) and I watched a few episodes of the How do I look show and we both have one suggesstion. When you have the makeover look in the mirror to choose a celebrity hairstyle, why not computer impose their face with the celebrity's hairstyle. Just a suggestion,OK? Jerry/Darla Holden

3. Hi, Jeannie, I really enjoy watching "How do I Look" when you came on as host, not because I am Asian too. I also like the fact that you and your team as well as the network are doing so much to help. I am not a bad dresser, I guess, but I would like to improve my style to something better especially when I am not dressed up but just going out to the mall or do errands, it is during these times that I am a lousy dresser. I cant seem to get my look together and my arms and tummy are showing bulges that I am desperately trying to cover up. I would like to have something like a make-over but I live in the Philippines. I wonder if you can help me still? More power to your show and keep it coming....:)

5. This is a really bad re-working of the original (which was cheesy, but fun). Why go in the exact opposite direction?

6. On the episode "Sweet Charity" what were the 3 hairstyles she had to pick from? I can't remember the celebs that were pictured. Can you tell me? Thanks.
