The Fashion Week Show We're Wildest About

Ever heard of Alexandre Herchcovitch? His name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue when you think of renowned fashion designers. This much we know: The Brazilian designer is not afraid of the avant-garde. His fall collection featured rubber corsets, just to give you an idea. (More gear for Lady Gaga!) And for spring, he continued his fantastical approach with what had to be one of the coolest shows of the week.
The first part of the collection was futuristic romanticism, with tiers of lace on soft teal and nude satin. Then color burst on the scene in full force. Bright rainbow hues were patched together in squares on mouton sleeve tops; colorblock dresses were held together by exposed zippers; sculpted white plastic encased a model's rib cage while red plastic was sculpted into a voluminous skirt covered with sheer printed material, like a hot balloon from the future.

1. He is one of the best designers at NYC fashion week. Most others are just boring and repetitive. Alexandre adds the edge NYC lacks.
