How Do I Get Rid of My Eyebags?

What's the best way to minimize dark circles and bags under the eyes? I'm East Indian, and it seems like no concealer works unless I put a ton on. I want something low-maintenance that lasts through the day.

The lowest-maintenance solution involves no makeup at all, of course: injections or surgery. Leery? Don't be. Dr. Jody Levine, a dermatologist with Plastic Surgery and Dermatology of NYC, opening in September, says it's tough to know exactly how to treat you without an office visit, but you may have several options. If your darkness comes from a shadow effect caused by hollowness under your eye, there are fillers a dermatologist injects to make the shadows disappear. Or, Levine says, "If the darkness is coming from blood vessels under the skin, laser treatment may be your answer."
Either way, please tell me you're moisturizing. You are, right? Riiight?
"Look for eye serums that contain hyaluronic acid, which provide excellent moisture to the eye area," Levine says. (My recommendation: Mario Badescu's Hyaluronic Eye Cream.)
If none of that appeals, I can recommend a few excellent concealers. MAC is known for packing hard-core coverage in a tiny black container; on-camera makeup artists swear by it. For something slightly sheerer, your StyleSpy adores two brands: Lancôme's Flash Retouche and YSL's Touche Éclat. Both are infinitely layerable and blendable. Apply it and forget it.

1. I have found that natural remedies can be just as good as store remedies, without putting a hole in your pocket. I recommend putting tea bags with chamomile or green tea on your eyes for 45 minutes before you go to bed or you can use cucumbers. Both work well. I recommend this inexpensive way before you try an over-the-counter eye treatment. Hope it helps!
