How to Get Voluminous Hair?

What can I do to really give my hair some volume?

The key to a full and fabulous mane is something you can achieve with a product you always keep stocked in your beauty arsenal: "Hairspray! Hairspray! Hairspray!" explains Split Ends stylist Andrea Moore. "Sitting in a chair, looking directly up at the ceiling and putting the hairspray underneath your hair will really pump up the volume."

The perfect hairspray is crucial in the pursuit of luscious locks. "I'm in love with Chi Enviro Flex Hold Hairspray. I got it in Natural Hold, and it's really good because it does not feel like you have a bunch of stuff in your hair." Although it's a bit pricey, Moore promises that if you use enough of the right hairspray, your hair will stay up.

To tease hair, section it off on the crown of your head, "and with a rattail comb take small sections, no thicker than half an inch, and just start backcombing your hair, pushing it down. When you let that top section down all of your hair is just going to seem really, really up to the sky!" You can also use an afro pick to just pick up the top of your hair a little throughout the day.

For a real steal, try Aqua Net. "Our moms weren't wrong when they were spraying that stuff in their hair in the '80s!"
