This program and the Jersey Shore program are making people from New Jersey look like total uneducated idiots, It is unfortunate that the beautiful sides of New Jersey are never shown or acknowledged. I never knew anyone that acted like the above people except when I was in New York City. If you want to show idiots move your show to New York you'll find a boatload of them.

Just wondering cathy * emily.... what do any of these girls do in this video that makes people look uneducated? because they look great/and work at a salon? no offense, but those 20-25 year old girls seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. while i don't personally know any of them, i can't really say the 'beautiful' sides of nj need to be shown ** what are they doing that offends u so much? idiots? because a girl and another girl are shown arguing? im sick of these jersey show/NJ haters ** ive still yet to see any jerseylicious add/video that showed anything 'ridiculous' or 'idiotic.' you both seem quite judgemental, and seem to give me that you are representing NJ as stuck up, unapproachable, stereotypical, and prejudice.

  5. mike ocks: since you are "wondering" why i said the premiere of this show looks ridiculous.....here's why. WHO WHO WHO is THAT tan nowadays? seriously? seriously??? AND lee press on nails??? AND huge wig looking hairs? I'm sorry Mike, i'm not sure how old you are * but i am 27 years old and speak for the majority of the "twentysomethings" living in New Jersey......that look went out AGES ago.....we are talking the early to mid 90's! And if you think they look good * then maybe you like girls caked on with that makeup and tan to HAVE to hide their natural beautifues. And 20-25 year olds doing pretty well for themselves you say? working in a salon? chasing a reality dream? thats doing pretty well? if you say so, hahaha!! I'm far from a NJ hater * i love NJ. I wish we would show the true side of jersey. Why dont you come take a walk and meet some classier looking young girls that Jersey has to offer more than the funny clowns you see on reality shows.   9. As a genuine Jersey native, I cannot stomach all these reality shows which focus on a derelict subculture of people in my state. I hope to god that isn't going to be about big hair ridiculousness! People in New Jersey have more education and degrees per square mile than most states. Please do not think my state is full of morons.

  16. This show has the potential to give the wonderful ladies (and gentleman) at Gatsby a bad rep. I personally know all of the stylists that have been working at this Salon for years and they are all beautiful, caring, people and are in no way conceited or overly dramatic. Many of these women are also intelligent, and made the choice not to participate in the filming of this show. Those who did choose to participate knew the risk and were aware that they have no control of how they will be portrayed on television. Those criticizing this show also must keep that in mind. Although I will wait to pass judgment until I can actually see the show for myself, I do not believe this will be a completely accurate portrayal of what the Gatsby Salon is truly like which is very unfortunate because it is a great salon with some great employees and stylists. One must remember that the Gatsby is a business first and foremost, and any publicity is good publicity.

  21. Seriously it was awful! I was ******* I am from Central Jersey and we don't look like that! I thought the show would be better than that. I am ashamed on how it depicts Central Jersey and the women here. It really does keep the stereotype going when you do shows like this. Well this is a show I will not be watching. This is for mike ocks who commented earlier on Feb 6th **** granted they have jobs but its just ridulous how they act. Yes this is a tv show but you have people out there who believe that all women in NJ are like that. This whole thing is offense! I grew up in Central Jersey all my life. Seriosly no one I know looks like that nor talks like that. The big hair, the fake tan, and the big boobs Seriously! I really don't believe I am being judgemental. It is more when you ask someone from out of the state to describe NJ girls.... what do they say? Big hair, long nails, etc. SO its not that they are out of style it's just perpetuating the stereotype.

  23. I know plenty of people from Jersey that look/talk just like that. Look around ladies, they're everywhere. Does anyone really think that showing the * beautiful and educated" sides of N.J would make for any type of good TV? This show was hilarious. My favorite part had to be when the self proclaimed "Glam Fairy" was calling Olivia tacky while her whole boob was practically falling out of her ill fitting dress...just awesome!

  25. I am a hairdresser in Central Jersey and I find the show absolutly discraceful. I think it is a horrible representation of hairstylists in NJ. I cant believe you would want to represent yourself in that way. I find it way more embarrasing than the Jersey Shore. This show misrepresents an entire profession that works very hard not to be sterotyped to begin with. I know where the Gatsby is and have been in there myself and those people do not represent even a quarter of the staff that works there. People say that any publicity is good publicity but this is ridiculous I am shocked a salon owner would want her staff to ever be representing her buisness in such a horrible way. I hope anyone who watches this knows that New Jersey hairdressers are nothing like this, Most of us are known for our talent and education and not our tans and bad attitudes!

  26. Love the show BUT these kinds of girls come from North Jersey and New York. People from South Jersey like myself do not act or look like that. some of us have big hair but not that big and all that makeup is crazy, but I am addicted to the show anyway. There needs to be some shows about South Jersey because we are so different from N.Jersey. South Jersey should be its own state. Put North Jersey with New York already lol <3

  28. Although this show makes for "good" entertainment (considering this is the only garbage on TV these days) its absolutely ridiculous. I have lived near the Gatsby my whole life and what used to be known as a classy world renowned salon is now being exploited by the very people who own it! No one on that show even works there. I know one if the girls on the show last night and it's not even her real name. So as far as entertainment goes... "great" I am a fan, but as far as what they think it will do for their business and reputation.... "terrible".

  31. OK, This is my first time watching the show. I think the salon looks great and thought that Gayle and Christy are doing a great job. I do think you picked the best two for the job, Olivia and Tracy. I think they just need to grow up and learn to get along. Alexa on the other hand needs to remember that it is not her business, it is called Gatsby NOT Glam Fairy!! She needs to stop hating on Olivia just because she is younger and prettier than she is. I'm glad you got rid of that annoying lady with that aweful laugh! I think GiGi and Anthony are a great fit too even though we didn't get to see much of them yet. I think having a man around there will be good to balance out the estrogen. Hopefully he can handle it but it sounds like he is use to that sort of thing. Good luck to all of you and I look forward to watching the Drama!! lol Of course when I am not working or watching the news. I need a comic relief here and there. And amen -COLE comment #27.....Alexa has nerve to talk!

  32. Ok so ppl need to stop hating. I live in florida and ther are tons of girls who are that tan and wear that much make up. its not just a jersey thing. i live on the beach and not everyone around here as that laid back beachy style ppl think we do. there are certain areas of jersey where super tan and big hair is still very much in and its not just a jersey thing. if it bothers u soooo much dnt watch the show. Just like the news only shows the bad of Africa doesnt mean there isnt good. so dont worry no one will think jersey is all orange sorry i mean terracotta lol however, the girls that do tan beyond we have a name for it. "jersey shorin it'"

  33. This show is definitely interesting from a cosmetology stand point. I really appreciate the arts so this falls into that category and it adds a plus of comedy and down to earth experiences. Hope the season goes well. Looking forward to the next episode.

  36. All of the ladies and gent seem cool to me except for Tracy and Alexa. Alexa has a nasty attitude, not personable at all. And she does not have her look together, compared to rest of the ladies. She tried to look glam, but her outfit at the open house, in the first episode did not compliment her at all. It looked tacky, no matter what size you are, you can find clothes that compliment your body type. And she started to get an attitude with her boss over Olivia! I get her point about the acrylics and the art of applying makeup not mixing. Good point, but perhaps, if she can't work with others, she should quit and go back to her business. I hope she's not in too many of the episodes.

  37. actually alexa is one of the most personable people i know. you are a moron because its a tv show that is edited and produced to create situations... not to mention ANYONE who was told that girl would be her understudy would yes react the same way...she was so tan she looked dirty and if i sat down to have my makeup done i would run like my *** is on fire when she walked over. as far as people asking to portray south or central jersey better you are also totally off point...it is a tv show and NORMAL does not sell.....every part of jersey has majority normal nice areas.....and every part has garbage! i know an ABUNDANCE of guidettes from central jersey who talk so funny i actually asked if they lived in staten island upon first meeting them. as far as south jersey you have plenty of white trash that looks like it strolled out of a trailer park in middle america to go with your cape may county.....so change the channel or watch the TV SHOW and get on with your life

I'm not from N.J. but if I were, I would campaign to have that show cancelled. Young girls today are very vulnerable and to have such croppy show on TV is a disgrace.

CAROL.....im actually not from the show nor do i have anything to do with it....im a stylist from northern new jersey......if u read what i wrote and had the comprehension skills of a 7 year old you would see that i am simply stating facts that REALITY TV isnt real!! its all manufactured to create drama....so im sorry if i wrote too much for your tastes but its beyond annoying when people do not realize that ITS NOT REAL! ....its the equivelant of attacking a soap opera actor for the things the character does....i cannot speak for anyone else on the cast but i have worked with alexa on a video shoot and she is extremely easy to get along with personally and professionally ....just think twice about whats really reality and what sells is all im saying

  50. the show is funny and everything but the entire thing is FAKE. coming from someone who actually knows olivia AND tracy. tracys last name is maloney NOT dimarco, she changed it for the show to be more 'italian' and the fact that shes dating lorenzo is FAKE hes one of her friends that she asked to be her 'boyfriend' for the show to add drama. the truth is OLIVIA is dating a guy named MIKE AKTARI. mike aktari is TRACYS EX they were together for over 2 years and then broke up. now him and OLIVIA are together. this whole thing is FAKE. the truth is olivia is dating TRACYS ex. i dont know why they changed it for the show. but tracy needs to get a life and stop hating olivia. tracy is nothing but a fake hater.
