Julia Roberts Lightens Up and Lets Loose

We know, we know. Julia Roberts has hardly been a paragon of styling in recent years—she simply wears too much black! But here's why we think the Pretty Woman turned Ladies Who Lunch club member is worthy of a shout-out: She keeps her clothes on. Just think about it—no plunging necklines, no going bottomless. It's positively refreshing!

At last night's Film Society of Lincoln Center tribute to Tom Hanks, a blonder Julia paired a black cardigan with a prim white-silk floral-print Dolce & Gabbana dress. This isn't exactly dazzling red carpet fare—she complained in her F-bomb-laden toast (aka roast) to the actor that his publicist was wearing the same thing. But this ginormous leap on the color wheel does leave us thinking that it's only a matter of time before she goes wild and crazy and throws on something in, say, purple, turquoise and yellow to match her off-color remarks!
