Katy Perry Accidentally Catches a Case of Red Fever

Just yesterday Katy Perry traded in her signature dark locks for a new orange hue as she hit the pool in Miami. We couldn't help but think it didn't look like Katy's usual crazy 'dos—we're used to chunky red-and-pink highlights or an electric blue wig by now. So what's up with this relatively normal new hair color?

It was a mistake! The singer called the process an "#epicfail" and tweeted, "So I didn't get to the exact color I wanted from being black for so long, 2get to goal I have 2b GINGER for 3WKS." So what is Katy's secret hair goal? We're guessing she's reverting to her natural blonde, as most dark haired lasses have an awkward in-between orange stage when going golden. But while the pop sensation remains red, we have to say, we're not totally in love with the look. With every celeb calling their colorist to go ginger, now Katy looks like just another redhead in the crowd.

1. I think blonde would be too banal for her * she wouldn't give up her pin up style to look like every other pop star, and I hope it will be pink! She would look amazing, just like Gwen Stefani used to. Besides on twitter she wrote "color(s)" so it could also be a mix! How about leopard hair?

2. I was never a fan of the pale face * black hair on most people but both katy * dita von teese managed to look pretty * unqiue! ..unless katy goes a dramatic colour I've got a feeling she would look too comerical * simular to most celebs like paris, britney, xtina * lindsay etc.. blonde is not the way forward for anyone wanting to make a statement in the pop world these days it's soo 2000! not 2011. agree with Moth comments, maybe pink, purple or green would be a nice change to black.. although maybe a bit too Gaga then again! x
