Part-time Italy resident Debi Mazar was so shaken when she heard about last month's deadly earthquake in L'Aquila, Italy, she rang her neighbor James Ferragamo (Salvatore's grandson) and put together an event auctioning off handbags owned and signed by her famous friends.
"Their efforts were insane," Debi said of A-list pals like Madonna, Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow, who donated bags for the auction, which launched last night at the Ferragamo store on Rodeo Drive. Demi Moore was happy to part with the Ferragamo clutch she carried to Cartier's 100th Anniversary celebration last month for the cause. You can check out all the bags on eBay. The auction runs through June 12 and all proceeds go to the GlobalGiving Italy Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund.
