Paris Hilton Practices Safe Style for Michael Jackson's Premiere

To give Paris Hilton credit, it was extremely windy in Los Angeles last night. So part of us understands her need to secure her dress with safety pins at Michael Jackson's This Is It premiere. And yes, the fastenings are trendier now than they have been since Elizabeth Hurley exposed her body in Versace in 1994.

We don't mind the safety pins holding together the heiress's trendy slashed midsection. But was it really necessary to bring the attention down south with a vertical line of decorative gold? It certainly didn't help Paris avoid a Marilyn Monroe moment in front of her fans.

Unlike the rest of the crowd, Paula Abdul didn't want to mourn in black. She celebrated Michael Jackson's talent by brightening the carpet with a Temperely London dress and pink Christian Louboutins.
