I am a very curvy, pear-shaped woman. I wanna wear the new spring trends but I am not sure which ones are good for my body type. What would you suggest?

Let me guess. The bold print trend has you salivating, but you aren't quite sure if your voluptuous bottom can handle it. Indeed, it can! Fabulous image consultant Kay Hunter says a says a patterned A-line skirt like the one from New York & Company shown left is perfect for women of the pear-shaped variety. "If it has just the right amount of flair—not too much—it erases your hips," Hunter explains.
Pair your skirt with a solid, fitted top, preferably with a good bit of tailoring or shape in the shoulders to balance your hips. You might even want to toy with shoulder pads—not the big ones from the '80s. Just enough to balance you out.
A fitted safari dress also looks mighty fine on a pear-shaped gal. "It's super chic and cinches the waist," explains Mar Yvette, stylist for How Do I Look? and Los Angeles senior editor for Citysearch. Yvette also recommends this season's souped up trench. "They work on virtually every figure, including pears." Finish it all off with a grand pair of wedges and you're set for spring.

1. i'm 14 and rather curvy i want to wear cute trendy things but i don't want to look like i shop in my mothers closet and i don't want to look like i'm 6 again, what styles should i go for that will give me an edgy "yes i am 14 and yes i do know fashion" look with out looking trashy?
