WTF Fashion: Katy Perry Lights Up at the Met Gala

No, Katy Perry did not smoke a joint on the big night deemed "the Oscars of fashion"—although that would explain a heck of a lot! The singer literally lit up on the red carpet in a glow-in-the-dark gown by CuteCircuit.

We admit, the rave-inspired dress did not come out of left field. The cartoon quirky character wore Jimmy Choo platforms that illuminated with each step at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards last month. But her silly frock just seemed inappropriate for such a sophisticated event.

If she was determined to be bold, she could've at least borrowed a page from bestie Rihanna's style book and rocked a neon number instead, like the fluorescent yellow Giambattista Valli dress Ri-Ri dazzled in at the BET Awards two years ago. The fashion déjà vu would've been better than this joke-of-the-party look.
