After all, the legendary "worst dressed" listmaker called 'em as he saw 'em—and with acerbic alliteration and riotous rhymes that made us laugh and grimace at the same time.
A former actor turned designer, Mr. Blackwell found his niche nearly 50 years ago when he began issuing his annual list of celebrities who dressed under the influence. Born Richard Selzer, Mr. Blackwell died Sunday of complications from an intestinal infection at the age of 86.
