At Alberta Ferretti's recent store opening, Sanaa Lathan proved you don't need to wear red or emerald to get into the holiday spirit. By accessorizing her turquoise Alberta Ferretti frock with an ivory statement necklace from Tobi Tobin's Vintage Couture Collection, the actress reminded me of a Tiffany blue inspired Christmas.

This refreshing take on seasonal style is inexpensive to recreate. If you don't already own a light blue or turquoise dress, there are some options in the gallery below that will carry you into spring. As for the white clutch and shoes, stay away from satin to avoid looking like a wannabe bridesmaid, or just go for a metallic to achieve the same effect. And, if it's too cold for bare legs where you live, cover up with plum or gray opaque tights. But please, no nude nylons! Style Santa would highly disapprove.
