Test Drive: Rese Smart Activewear

Having practiced yoga for many years, I thought my first Pilates class would be a cinch. But I found it impossible to remember to tighten my abs, or "core" as it's called, for 45 minutes straight. Then Rese activewear, which supposedly helps maintain correct form, was recommended to me. So I decided to give Pilates another go, this time decked out in the "smart" apparel.
The seamed panel around the inside waist of the Gail top ($52) reminded me to focus on my core. The Connie pant ($78) has a horizontal green line across the hips, so whenever I looked down or glanced in the mirror, I remembered to check my alignment. The company also has great tanks for yoga, like the Pauline top ($60). Its inner layer hugs the body so nobody sees your belly button in Downward Dog, while the loose outer layer hides muffin-top.
My only complaint is I had to fold up my tank in order to see the hip-aligning stripe on my pants. But I'm also on the shorter side, so not everyone will face this problem. Overall, I highly recommend the line. It may be pricey, but the pieces are functional, super-comfy and flattering enough to wear while running errands after class.
