Product Review: Out Ease Struts
Thu., Jun. 11, 2009 1:00 PM PDT by Staff
Out Ease Struts ($12.95) is an adhesive that claims to prevents pant hems from getting caught between your heel and backless shoes. Here's what we thought!
Pros: There's a lot in one pack.
Cons: It's not very strong. If worn for a long period of time (a full workday), especially in the heat, they fall off.
—Kia H., Business & Legal Affairs
Pros: I never have time to make it to the tailor so this was a quick solution. Plus, it didn't damage whatever clothing I pasted it on.
Cons: You have to put it on so precisely or it will feel really uncomfortable. It sometimes took 10-15 minutes just to get it on the right spot.

Pros: The product was easy to use. Since it's an adhesive, I found it best to position where I wanted the inserts to go before applying them.
Cons: The strip itself was heavier than the material of my pants. So my pant cuff did not slide between my heel and my shoe, but the insert—because of its weight and the motion when I walked—would undo the cuff of my pant and it would drag on the ground.
—Dhani T., International
Bottom Line: This quick-fix adhesive doesn't hold up for very long.

1. Hello-I have used struts faithfully for two years on all my jeans and slacks. I have never had one fall off. Interesting but completely inaccurate review. I love them and they solve a HUGE problem.Vittoria
