Ask Thom: What Paint Colors Go With Red Accents?

What color should I paint my bedroom, which has birch veneer furniture? I was thinking slate gray. I'm also not sure about the bathroom walls, but the color should go with the bedroom in case the door is open. Ideally, both colors would complement red accents.

I love your idea of slate gray. I think it's the right way to go. But I would use Benjamin Moore's Pewter 2121-30 for the bedroom because it's a little bit fresher and brighter than the slate gray. Also, I recommend painting your bathroom Silver Half Dollar 2121-40 because it goes beautifully with pewter. Plus, both colors will work well with red accents.

3. I really love your show and it has helped me work on curbing my own pack rat problems. However, I think that the detective on Messiest House #3 and the mom on Messiest House #1 are both people with hoarding problems. I admire what Niecy does to help people face their issues, but it seemed to me that those two families needed more, as in professional help. I completely understand why people are calling them ungrateful and rude (they were) but I do view them as having an illness, not just a clutter problem. Maybe a crossover with Dr. Phil? ** Keep up the good work.

5. i love your show! i am 22 yrs, my child3 yr, i do not own a house, but i am upset to were i will not watch this show any more do to the respect of the messy house of the young daughter and her mother, i work full time pay for my son, by myself no help, why cant you all help peolpe that are in need why is it that people that can do it they have it, but are to lazy! why? make a good show my opion! hel-p some one that really needs it! not even me just some one out there?

9. I TRULY CAN NOT BELIEVE WHAT I SEE IT IS REALLY UNBELIEVEABLE I HAVE HAD YARD SALES AND ALSO DONATE EVERY 1 OR 2 MONTHS TO 1 OF THE ASSOCIATIONS KIDNEY FOUNDATION PICKS UP THERE IS GOODWILL, ETCI TRULY CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THESE PEOPLE WOULD PUT THEMSELVES ON THE AIR IT LOOKS QUITE STAGED TO ME

11. i purchased a home with all red carpet, what colors would go with this color of carpet.
