A brunch is an excellent opportunity to wear those clothes that fall between office and evening—that favorite femme blouse, slim-cut capri, kilty thing, tiered skirt or future-forward dress that doesn't quite work in a boardroom. I know you have something like that in your closet—that bold kimono dress you always want to wear but can't because it doesn't quite fit the occasion. The brunch is a hybrid; it's an occasion that's hard not to fit.

So, final answer: You're freer than you think. Simply pick what doesn't otherwise fit.
