Which Eye Creams Have SPF?
Fri., Jul. 24, 2009 11:23 AM PDT by StyleSpy
I just read a report quoting a dermatologist saying that the delicate eye area doesn't get enough sun protection. Eek! Is there an eye cream with an SPF I can use? Will it sting?

The answers to your questions, in order: Yes and yes. I've sampled many SPF-carrying eye creams in the past few weeks—including wonderfully effective ones from Prescriptives, Bright Eyes, Votre Vu and Dermelect.
They all work great, especially if you pop them in the fridge first for the added cooling benefit. But all of them—all of them, no exceptions—will sting your eyes if they get too close. It's the trade-off you make when seeking sun protection for that ever-sensitive eye area.
That isn't to say you shouldn't use them. Go ahead. But keep the application sparing, and limit it to the upper brow and the under-eye—but never too close to the lash line.
Sorry to offer a downer of an answer, but sometimes beauty ain't perfect.
