Ask Thom: What Works with Olive Green?

I love olive green and would like to use it in my bedroom. I would like to know two things: 1. Can I incorporate silky (shiny) material with a plain matte linen? and 2. What colors go well with olive green?

To answer your first question: Absolutely! I love juxtaposition. I enjoy mixing matte with shiny, raw with refined, modern with traditional. A silk curtain would look great with nice, crisp Egyptian cotton bedding. Secondly, all sorts of grays, beiges and browns look fabulous with olive green. Add a little touch of orange to really knock it out of the park!

3. I love the color green.every single shade of green,it's so pretty.i have 2 questions how can i put every shade of green in my room without going overboard?and 2 my daughter hates the color green so how do i keep myself happy and her happy?P.s. your the cutes guy on t.v.
