Over-the-knee boots are one of fall's hottest trends. So it's no surprise stars are already slipping into the dramatic shoe. In a soft suede, the footwear can look classy, as shown by Jenna Dewan at a Nylon party. But in black leather, you run the risk of looking a little too Pretty Woman, ahem, Kim Kardashian. You can get away with leather if you go for flats like Miley Cyrus or by wearing your boots over jeans, as Kate Hudson did during a recent girls' night out.

1. I purchased the Miss Me Over the Knee Boot in gray and all I have received so far have been wonderful compliments. They are not trashy at all and look very trendy and much more expensive. I bought my boots in an 8 even though I am a 7 and they fit great in length. They were tight however on the calf as I could barely zip them. I have muscular calves so this may pose a problem for others if you don't have thin calves. After wearing them in once, however, the calves loosened a bit. **
