Balloon Boy Is Ahead of the Fashion Trends

Krizia Robustella Fashion Show, Balloon

When we first heard about the Balloon Boy hoax, we thought, Ooooh, he's in trouble! But then we realized that Falcon Heene is quite the little fashionisto: Balloons are in for spring.

During Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week, designer Krizia Robustella sent models down the runway carrying handbags made from foil balloons of birds, dolphins and lions.

In Milan, Giorgio Armani showed floral and blue balloon skirts. While in Paris, Miuccia Prada opted for balloon sleeves in Miu Miu's spring 2010 collection.

Over at New York Fashion Week, Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch constructed dresses that reminded us of hot air balloons—and Narciso Rodriguez's final look had an uncanny resemblance to the silver flying saucer that caused Balloongate.

So maybe when the Heenes head to court next week, they can just plead fashion as a defense.
