Product Review: Bra Barrette

Bra Barrette
StyleTest Drive

Not only are Bra Barrettes ($8-$40) intended to keep bra straps in place underneath clothing, some also come decorated—with a single charm or rhinestones—so you can expose them as fashion accessories when wearing tank tops. Here's what we thought of the charmed versions.

Barbara M.

Pros: It kept my bra straps in place.
Cons: I don't think it's fashion-forward. It seems immature. The charms aren't comfortable under clothing.

Ashley R.

Pros: I couldn't even feel it when I had it on. It looks pretty cute with a tank top.
Cons: It was difficult to reach around my back and put it on blindly. It actually brings your straps almost too close together—making them visible around the necklines of certain tops.
—Ashley R., Production

Danielle Datu

Pros: It was easy to put it on. The barrette (sans charm) comfortably tightened my bra straps, which resulted in more support.
Cons: The charms are swapped out via a lobster claw clasp. I always had a hard time using those things with necklaces—and this instance is no different.
—Danielle D., Editorial

Bottom Line: Bra Barrettes are great for keeping straps from falling. But as an accessory, the charms are a little too cutesy for grown women.
