Ask Style: Which Foundations Provide the Perfect Dewy Look?
Fri., Oct. 30, 2009 12:00 PM PDT by StyleSpy
I would love to find the perfect foundation for a dewy look, a full coverage look and a last-all-day look. I am not afraid to spend the money because I want my confidence back!

Let's start with dewy foundations. Of course much will depend on whether the line carries your shade—not always a guarantee, given that some lines carry as few as three or four shades!
The best of the dewy foundations don't necessarily offer a ton of coverage, but they do deliver a whopping amount of The Gorgeous. Our testers absolutely adored two particular brands, and it's good that you're willing to pay, because La Mer "The Treatment" Liquid Foundation retails for $85. If you can't afford it, don't even get a sample; you'll be hooked instantly. Another incredibly dewy and silky option is a bit less pricey—$45—and comes with a light, pretty scent to boot: a French company called Paul & Joe, available on The Beauty Closet.
Paul & Joe has eight shades, though only three were available at the Beauty Closet at press time. If neither company has your particular shade of dewy, I have two more recommendations for you: A company called Dieci offers a wide-ranging array out of only six shades, and the coverage is pretty good for a dewy foundation. Or try Koh Gen Do, a professional-grade line that boasts no less than 12 shades; our testers loved the consistency. It's the Maifanshi line you're looking for. But again, I'm glad you're willing to shell out. Less than 1 ounce costs $55.
In my next installment: the best in full coverage.
