Tunics are so appealing because they're not only versatile, they're extremely forgiving! The pretty prints and easy-to-wear shape can be flattering for everyone—but only if you follow these helpful hints:
- Wear sheer to light-weight fabrics. Thicker fabrics won't evoke the same breezy air. Instead, you'll feel as if you're traipsing around in a pair of curtains, or your favorite blanket.
- Remember: These are not your mother's muu-muus. No matter your height or weight, do not wear a floor-sweeping tunic while steadying a martini in your hand. This is especially true for petites. You will drown in the excess fabric. However, Long and lean types can carry off longer versions.
- Stick to smaller patterns. If they're too big, they will make you appear bigger.
- Make sure the tunic is not as wide as it is long, regardless of your body type. In other words, loose-fitting is good. Tent-like is not.
Check out a couple of tunics we fell in love with after the jump.
Milly Cabana Buenos Aires tunic; $325.
Isabel Marant Quam dress; $570.
