Denimology launched three years ago, the end result of a search for the perfect pair of jeans. These days, it's grown into an online magazine dedicated to informing the world about everything denim—from new brands and trends to the latest celebrity style. The latter is where Jessie Thorpe comes in. As Denimology's Celebrity Fashion Watcher Extraordinaire, the blogger is always in the know about who's wearing what and how to get their look.

"Dylan George is an amazing new line seen on Ashley Tisdale, Lindsay Lohan and Kate Beckinsale," she tells mystyle. "Expect big things from them." The blogger is a proponent of designer denim. "I am an average size 10 woman, so I need jeans cut for my curvy body to avoid that dreaded gape at my back," she explains. But if you want to test a trend, say neon or jeans ripped to the point of no belief, then Jessie is fine with heading over to Wet Seal.

Speaking of trends, according to the denim expert you need to try a jean jacket or vest this summer. "Current/Elliott, Rich & Skinny and Helmut Lang are all doing timeless denim jackets that won't be out of style even after hanging in your closet for a couple seasons," she advises.

But the blogger isn't only about jeans. "Vanessa Hudgens wears great jeans and makes excellent use of accessories," she says. "In my opinion, that always makes or breaks your denim style." Paige Premium and Ron Herman collaborated on a pair of jeans called the Laurel Canyon Jean in Driftwood, which is inspired by the beaches of California.

Can you give three tips women should follow when shopping for jeans?
1. When you find a pair you really love, buy two.
2. Know your body type when you go shopping.
3. Buy jeans for their fit, not their brand.

Which celebrities have the best denim style?
Rihanna always gets it right, from tie-dyed and shredded to dark and serious jeans. Plus, she has great accessories and lots of haute couture! Gwen Stefani has random, quirky yet oh-so-cool denim style. And of course, the denim making diva who always makes a statement is Victoria Beckham.

Which are your top three brands of denim?
1. Paige is for any genre of girl from punk to preppy. I absolutely adore the Rebel wash.
2. I have bright pink hair so I need as much help classing it up as I can get for PTA meetings! My J Brands do that, and I feel taller and slimmer when wearing them.
3. When I want a pair of jeans that can take me from morning to night, I wear Rag & Bone. They are perfect-fitting, classic and made from high-quality textiles. Their clothes are sewn the same way as they were in the 1950s! You get a feeling that the jeans are wiser than you.

What are big denim don'ts?
Low-rise jeans plus love handles equals a major fashion no-no. Not everyone can wear low-rise. You can still look hip in a slightly higher rise.

Also, hem your jeans! Make the most of your investment by having the store's tailor hem them before you leave. It will be the best money spent to prolong the life of your jeans.
