Last night I had a choice of sitting home and watching Sex and The City: The Movie yet again on HBO or attending a handbag launch and a Malibu Rum cocktail party. Clearly it was a no-brainer. So I slipped on one of the new dresses I bought at Giuliana Rancic's wardrobe sale (love being the same size as talent selling Gucci and Valentino!) and headed over to Mondrian's Skybar for Zara Terez Zimmerman's West Coast Handbag Launch.

While my friends gushed over the adorable Brenda Song, I drooled over Zara Terez's Birds of a Feather clutch perched in one of the glass cases lining the pool. The pretty plumage could make any outfit look fierce. The rest of the collection was just as fun: fringe, beadwork, python and even a custom design that was being auctioned off to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. But I couldn't stay to see who won the unique piece, because it was time to head up to the hills for the Malibu Reef Check Estate event.

 

 

Malibu Rum partnered up with nonprofit organization Reef Check to raise awareness for protecting coral reefs. To celebrate, Anna Faris hosted a bash at a Beverly Hills mansion. I wish I had more to tell you about Anna, but her bodyguard publicist rudely interrupted my interview before we even got started. But I can report that Anna smartly brought a leather jacket and new hubby Chris Prat to keep warm while bikini-clad models tried to position themselves as close to the heat lamps as possible. Luckily, I had the view to distract me from the cold. All of Los Angeles sparkled like the gemstones on Diane Kruger's Atelier Versace dress. Equally as pretty was Malibu's limited-edition bottle. You can pick up one for $12.99 at your local liquor store for your own (hopefully warmer) party at home.
