When your boss tells you, "We will be going to New York Fashion Week and the VMAs this weekend," you kinda go into shock. Crazy things start to go through your head: What do I pack? Will I get kicked out because my jacket is not designer? Last time I was in NYC, I had a girlfriend. (Yes, that long ago.) I could not believe I was going for work. What a dream!
The energy in New York City during Fashion Week is so difficult to put into words! It is like everyone is having their own surprise party. The weeks of outfit planning, the travel plans, the anticipation of viewing the designers' new collections strutting down the runway—it is all so intense! I must note that I am not the most fashion-forward guy; my favorite outfit is a simple white V-neck T-shirt, dark denim jeans and really, really cool-fierce shoes. Oh, wait…darn! I was doing so well until I got to the shoe part. I guess I am into fashion, but aren't we all in some way ?
On Friday afternoon in sunny L.A., Giuliana and I caught the 4 p.m. direct flight to NYC, which meant we didn't land till 12:30 a.m. the next day. Thankfully the flight was smooth, and there were no plane nerves for G. We stayed at the Trump International Hotel, located across from Central Park. (I know what you are thinking: Did Bill get us a good deal because of his Apprentice days? Answer: Yes!) The hotel is awesome and very homey! Great location, best service, and they even give you yummy cookies by your bedside every night. (Yes, people eat during Fashion Week.)
Our first fashion show was the next day. Giuliana had a hair and makeup call time at 6 p.m. sharp because she was walking in QVC's collection, featuring Rachel Zoe's new line. While G. transformed into a supermodel, I scoped out what goes on behind the scenes. It was pretty organized but packed with tall, gorgeous models (some in their underwear), stylists, beauty crews, press and Rachel Zoe. I was so excited to meet her; she styles some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, like Cameron Diaz, Eva Mendes and Anne Hathaway. She was incredibly nice and talked about her passion for fashion. I liked her.
I had one of the models show me how to walk—it is not easy. I wanted to be a model when I was in the 5th grade. I made my mom call John Casablancas modeling agency in Phoenix...but I opted for baseball instead. (Ugg.)
Giuliana did a fabulous job! We hit up the after-party to celebrate and mingled with Heather Graham, Isaac Mizrahi, Lance Bass and other celebs and fashion-industry people.
The next night we went to the Video Music Awards red carpet! The streets surrounding Radio City Music Hall were packed with screaming fans. Giuliana wore a cute black minidress with bright red Valentino heels; my job was to wrangle celebs for interviews. Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Chace Crawford, Pink and Lady Gaga were some of my favorites. (For the record, J.Lo's skin is beautiful, and Chace is pretty close to perfection.)
As you know, the show was filled with surprises. I mean...can we talk about Beyonce's performance?! Wow! After dancing my butt off at the post-party, I thought, Frank Sinatra was sooo right. New York is really the city that never sleeps—and I think fashion likes to stay up all night too.

1. I LOVE GUILIANA!! In the past when I'd watch her on E! I couldn't gather whether she was conceited or not. I mean, her journalistic style is straightforward. She does that well. But now that I've seen her show with her hubby, Bill, I really dig those 2 *** They are so cute together, Guiliana is so wacky and funny, and Bill cracks me up with his abrupt reactions to all that's going on around her. I came from upstate N.Y. and they helped remind me of the "head" that comes from living up north or back east. It's a dry humor, no crackin up all over the place, yet it makes you wanna "bust up" all over to watch them. They are great, great, great!!! I look forward to seeing many many seasons of this show, this budding couple, and hopefully some bambinos running around in their future. They would make the cutest kids! Best of luck and keep it going!!

2. I Love Gulliana, and I love hubby, Bill. You guys are perfect together. I wish Bill had a older brother. Hey, I'm was born and raised in chicago, and now I live in the suburbs. I love Chicago. I remember when you guys sold your house in the city, and I cried. That house was the must beautiful home I ever saw, and that home would have been my dream home. I've always dreamed of living downtown, but unfortuately I'd never be able to afford it. Please Gulliana listen to Bill * don't ever move to the suburbs, it way too boring. You would have the perfect life in the city. Don't ever move to Hinsdale * I live in Willowbrook * and they are so stuck up in Hinsdale. You guys are made for the city. But I'm just giving you my personal opinion, but even Lincoln Park would be a better area then stupid Hinsdale. But stay cool you guys. Valencia Hrobowski

5. You two are a great couple and, best of all, you make me laugh * out loud! I am a grandmother, married 44 years and have raised four sons. My advice on where you should iive, once you start your family is the midwest; i.e. Chicago. You will be giving your children a more wholesome upbringing. Parenthood is a tough job and you will want to give it all that you can to prepare your children for adulthood. BTW, we honeymooned in Chicago:) God bless you both! Betty

7. Just saw the first half of the episode where Big G finds out she and Bill are not legal in the U.S. I have a question: why is it Mathew's responsibility to remind Big G to throw her bouquet * what does she bring to the party anyway? Bills, right: Undo what you did? Guliana, honey you're adorable but grow up and be an adult.

10. I LOVE watching Giuliana and Bill!!! You 2 make a GREAT couple and Matthew, LOVE YOU!!! I think, Giuliana and Bill when you become pregnant you should make your permanent home in L.A., but keep the house or whatever house you have there, if Bill sells this one. The reason is because Giuliana's job is in L.A. and it would be much easier for Bill to move his business to L.A.!! Then you have a home in Chicago to go to as a summer home or just a home to go to to get away from it all. LOVE THE SHOW!!!

11. I lov ewatching you guys. You are so much like my husband and I! When you visited him at his worksite in the new outfit and bought heaters for the bathrooms I almost died! I caught my 7 year old son watching it and couldn't figure out why he liked it. THen someone asked him ina trivia game what tv family our family is most like and he said Guiliana and Bill! I said they don't even have kids! He said they are just like you and Daddy!And the wedding one! Of course you should have had another wedding!

13. I love both Bill and Giuliana but I LOVE the way Bill is firm on Giuliana. He does not let her have her way all the time. I like the way he smiles while being firm. Giuliana, u're fun as well.

14. They have to be one of the sweetest couples, there is so much garbage on TV and its so nice to see 2 people that are really happy, and enjoy each others company. How refreshing.

16. A huh, hello? I love your show, but it would of been nice for the "network" to tell your viewers that the last show when Giuliana sees the results of her preganancy test; that it's the end of the season! The next week I was looking and looking- and nothing. Usually/always-ALL shows let your viewers know that this is the "season finale". I was thinking- could it be that since she hosts E, that it is obvious that she is not preggers???Whatever, I'll keep tuning in like always!!! I love them both!!!!
