Supermodel Heidi Klum's new limited-edition makeup collection, Exotic Jewels ($13-$22), isn't available at Victoria's Secret until next week. But we made a point to get our hands on the cosmetics—lip gloss, lipstick, Glitter Liquid Eyeliner, Luminous Face Powder Gems, eye shadows and extra-length mascara—before then. Her skincare line was an instant hit! The line sure boasts an alluring and rich palette, but will it do wonders for our look? Is the makeup easy to use? Keep reading to find out!
Pros: The eye shadows looked amazing together. The lip gloss lasted all day.
Cons: Purple lashes aren't appropriate for every day. The lipstick wasn't very moisturizing, so I always had to use the gloss over it.
—Cala R., Production
Pros: The glitter of the liquid eyeliner not only showed up, but it did not flake off. The face powder gave my skin an extra glow.
Cons: I couldn't get the puff out of the face powder box, which resulted in bronzer all over my hands.
—Kirstin H., Editorial
Pros: The minute I dipped my brush in the eye shadows, I could tell how rich they were. They lasted all night without a single crease in my eyelids. The lipstick went on smoothly and gave my lips a soft pink yet natural look.
Cons: After a while, the lipstick tends to get clumpy and blotchy. I kept having to constantly wipe it off and reapply.
—Jessica K., Production
Bottom Line: Heidi Klum's Exotic Jewels makeup will give you a great nighttime look. But you might want to stick to your own fave brand of lipstick.
