You don't need to spend all your frequent flier miles to taste exotic cuisine. Instead, plan a global potluck party during your summer staycation. Ask guests to bring a dish that represents their favorite far-off destination—or assign everyone a different country if you're worried about a dinner table full of coq au vin, cassoulet and éclairs. You can order a bag of international flag toothpicks to send out with the invites.
To get you started, we have this Italian recipe from Chef Ralph Scamardella, the executive chef of Las Vegas hot spot Lavo. Buon appetito!

This Fourth of July, I don't want to go the typical red, white and blue route. But I still want to show my patriotism. What starry or striped fashion do you recommend I wear? Any other suggestions?

Dressing for work can be a headache and a half, especially these days when companies confuse their employees with phrases like "corporate casual" and "general business attire." That's why Jennifer Gregory and Melissa McGraw started Workchic last year. "It takes the stress out of getting dressed for work," they explain of their blog, which offers suggested outfits, fit guidelines and tips and tricks on how to look professional, feminine and chic.
Both women describe their personal style as "workchic with a twist." Melissa loves adding accessories to her skirts and dresses, while Jennifer has fun experimenting with printed blouses over pants and ballet flats. Since they are both curvy and on the petite side, the blogging duo has found that "A-line skirts and dresses, wrap dresses, and pants with a wider leg tend to work best." But A-line silhouettes work across the board, they add. "The shape is universally flattering whether you are petite and curvy or tall and curvy. They also help disguise a troubled midsection."
Melissa and Jennifer recommend dressing for the job you want, not the job you currently have. But they still want you to be comfortable during your climb to the top. "You want to stick with a 1-inch to a 2½-inch heel. That will make it more comfortable to walk in." Read on to hear their suggestions for where to find such shoes, as well as more Workchic secrets.

Vani-T claims its Bronzing Custard ($28) will turn you into a sun goddess in no time. Keep reading to see what we thought of it.
Pros: My bronze glow showed up within minutes and it stayed with me for over a week.
Cons: It had a nauseating smell that stayed with me throughout the day.

The Style Network's newest reality stars, Bill and Giuliana Rancic, were spotted indulging in a little healthy competition at Lucky Strike bowling alley in Hollywood yesterday. Although both looked fiercely determined to win, we have to admit: We were initially on Team Bill. How on earth was Giuliana going to knock over any pins in that itty-bitty dress and those gladiator wedges? We'd be too scared to bend over.
But after doing some digging, we're happy to report that the E! News host did in fact change into the same maroon-and-olive sneakers seen on hubby Bill when it was her turn to bowl. We knew G wasn't going to let anything ruin her shot at bragging rights!
To see more of the modern-day power couple, come back Tuesday, when we'll share exclusive pics from their beautiful Capri wedding and highlight their red carpet fashions.
Then tune into Style Wednesday, August 5, at 9/8c, to watch more of the dynamic duo's antics on the series premiere of Giuliana & Bill.

Is Nia Vardalos dressing under the influence?
Nia's maxi dress mess, which she wore to her own movie premiere (???!!) gives the entire trend a bad name! There's a time and a place for this nightie gown. It's called bed!

What color should I paint my bedroom, which has birch veneer furniture? I was thinking slate gray. I'm also not sure about the bathroom walls, but the color should go with the bedroom in case the door is open. Ideally, both colors would complement red accents.

We're all for experimenting with hairstyles, but we're not fond of pain. We can't imagine what a headache Kim Kardashian must have had when she yanked her hair back into a Tomb Raider braid. Paris Hilton's equally tightly-pulled-back 'do was more reminiscent of when she channeled Barbara Eden on an episode of American Dreams (Victoria Beckham sported a similar I Dream of Jeannie style for an Armani ad earlier this year).
But Salma Hayek got it right. Her ponytail is high enough to make a statement but loose enough so as not to cause an instant face-lift.
What do you think of the trend? Vote in the poll below, then head over to mystyle's Don't Try These Trends at Home gallery to see fashions we really hate!
