The always fabulous Kimora Lee Simmons attended the Emerald Ball in London last night wearing a real gem of dress: A glitzy Jenny Packham halter gown that showed off her sexy post-baby cleavage. To temper the provocative neckline, she accented her updo with a vintage-inspired jeweled accessory.

Now here's a creative way to get a leg up on your Twitter follower count: thigh-high "tattoo" stockings ($18) featuring the insanely popular social network's "Follow Me" phrase and birdie mascot. At first they seemed kinda creepy, but, then again, they're not half as wacky as some of the other handmade novelties you'd normally find on Etsy. (The Vulva Portrait Pendants come to mind.) Alyssa Milano tweeted that she loved them. We're sure she's not the only person in the Twitterverse who feels that way.

Is it OK to wear shorts when the temperature drops? What do you wear with them?
—Risa, via the Ask Style inbox
Fashion folklore has it that shorts must be banished to the back of your closet come wintertime. But it's time to dispel that myth, 'cause the quirky trend can look seriously stylish if done with a little skill. Read on for Viva Fashion editor Carmen Ordoñez's three-prong recipe for winter shorts success.
"Choose a fabric that's appropriate. I recommend staying away from very thin materials such as linen, and instead stick to warm fabrics such as tweed or wool, which is more seasonal," advises Ordoñez.
The next integral ingredient is tights.

Here's what caught our eye on the Web this week:
We bet hubby Josh Duhamel wishes he'd kept it in his pants—allegedly. Fergie looks haute on the cover of Cosmo's December issue. (I'm Not Obsessed)
Cynthia Nixon looked cool and chic in a white collared Hermès shirtdress while filming SATC 2 on the streets of Morocco. (Red Carpet Fashion Awards)
Heidi Klum and her gems are totally ditching the Victoria's Secret runway, but don't fret! She'll still work the crowd. (E! Online)
Surprise, surprise. Skinny celeb moms were seen buying Stella McCartney's collection for Gap Kids—for themselves! (Style)
Designer couture is on any gal's holiday wish list. But don't wait for Santa! Rent it, instead! (Fashionista)
The only time we'd ever imitate Lady Gaga's look is on Halloween. But we just might reconsider when M·A·C. unveils a lipstick inspired by the pop star next spring. (Style Watch)

As hard as Katy Perry tried to steal the spotlight with all of her kooky couture during last night's MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin, Beyoncé was ultimately the lady of the hour. How so? Let us count the ways...
First of all, B was hands down the Best Dressed of the night. The way her shimmering Atelier Versace gown hugged her sick bod was beyond breathtaking.
Secondly, she worked it during her sexy performance of her hit song "Sweet Dreams." For that, she wore an all-red lingerie-inspired costume, complete with body suit, garter belts, opera-length gloves and pumps.
Then, there's the tiny matter of her taking home three awards, including Best Video for "Single Ladies," for which she thanked hubby "Jay for putting a ring on it." Oh, oh, oh! Ah, real love—that's always in style.

Jim Carrey may play grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, which hits theaters tomorrow, but he sorta resembled jolly old St. Nick at the flick's London premiere. If only his full beard had been completely white—you know, instead of just semi-white. We kid!
It also didn't help that his girlfriend, Jenny McCarthy, looked very much like a modern-day Mrs. Claus in her lovely red coat. (We so want it!) The adorable couple is definitely on fashion Santa's nice list this year.

She speaks! Good Morning America aired part of Rihanna's sit-down with Diane Sawyer today. The full interview will be shown on 20/20 tomorrow night. The clip marked the first time the public had heard the singer address what happened on that ill-fated night that left her badly beaten by ex Chris Brown.
Unlike the silly bow tie that Chris wore on Larry King Live to not tell his side of the story, Ri-Ri looked beautiful and poised in a dress that let the world know that she was doing fine. The frock's bold shoulders suggested that she was a stronger woman as a result of the ordeal, while the white hue conveyed a sense of clarity and a new beginning.
Keep reading to hear Rihanna's advice to young women who feel trapped in abusive relationships.
