Eva Longoria Parker, Kate Walsh

The '80s have been back for a while now, so seeing blue eye shadow on the red carpet is no surprise. In fact, the color is one of the hottest makeup trends for winter.

But blue eye shadow and a cobalt dress? That can be a little much.

At an awards gala last night, Eva Longoria Parker took inspiration from her Ina Soltani dress and went overboard with a lighter shade of blue on her lids. At least Kate Walsh broke up the Smurf palette with a bold lip during her Letterman appearance a couple days before.

Lauren Conrad

Clearly, Lauren Conrad didn't tune in to the Glamour Women of The Year Awards when Stella McCartney got onstage in a purple mini and said, "Ladies up there, never wear a skirt this short!"

At Maxim and Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 2 launch party, the reality star went even shorter than the designer did. In fact, it almost looked like she was wearing a top without pants! It's too bad, too, because that Ashish sequined boyfriend blazer is killer.

Anna Lynne McCord, Eliza Dushku

When Michael Jackson wore it, it was the coolest thing ever. When Beyoncé tried it, we thought it was just a joke. But clearly, the one-glove trend is catching on. First, AnnaLynne McCord ruins what could have been a cute jeans look by slipping one arm into fishnets. Then, just days after David Letterman is caught red-handed with a sex scandal, Eliza Dushku appears on his show one-glove-handed.

Ashlee Simpson, Taylor Momsen

After years of worrying about tan lines, we finally traded in our triangle tops for bandeau bikinis this summer. But summer is over. For most of us, that is. Apparently, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Taylor Momsen still think it's OK to wear a strapless band across their chest—off the beach, no less! The Gossip Girl star's metallic ensemble doesn't bother us too much. It's basically a take on spring's popular slashed trend. But we're not fans of exposing a midriff with a suit.

Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian

Over-the-knee boots are one of fall's hottest trends. So it's no surprise stars are already slipping into the dramatic shoe. In a soft suede, the footwear can look classy, as shown by Jenna Dewan at a Nylon party. But in black leather, you run the risk of looking a little too Pretty Woman, ahem, Kim Kardashian. You can get away with leather if you go for flats like Miley Cyrus or by wearing your boots over jeans, as Kate Hudson did during a recent girls' night out.

Sandra Bullock

Had Sandra Bullock paired her Lanvin dress with peep-toes at last night's premiere of All About Stevemaybe she could have gotten away with the edgy style. (She's a classic jeans and tee girl in our book). But instead, Sandra decided to cut off her legs with unflattering ankle booties! We've seen similar styles on celebs like Maria Sharapova, Alexis Bledel and Sophia Bush. But the only person who really works the shoe is Alexa Chung. So clearly you need cutting-edge style and toothpick legs.

But what do you think about ankle booties? Vote in the poll below and then head over to mystyle's Don't Try These Trends at Home gallery to see celebrity fashion we really hate.

Stephanie Pratt, Christina Milian

Ever since Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears showed up to the 2001 American Music Awards in coordinating jean getups, double denim has made us cringe. But eight years later, we've decided to take another look. We're still not keen on a denim uniform, like Christina Milian's acid-wash jeans and matching jacket. But worn in different washes, denim on denim can look very modern—as Stephanie Pratt shows with an oversized light denim shirt and dark-wash jeans.

Rihanna

On Saturday evening, Rihanna partied it up at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas wearing a very unexpected Fourth of July-themed outfit: silver sequined star pasties and a black blazer. We don't know about you, but we're also seeing red. The envelope-pushing fashionista, who was hanging out with buddies Jamie Foxx and Jay-Z (Beyoncé, come get your man!), has gone too far with this tasteless Lil' Kim-esque number. The right to walk outside with exposed nipple cover-ups? That's one freedom we wouldn't mind being taken away.

Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Salma Hayek

We're all for experimenting with hairstyles, but we're not fond of pain. We can't imagine what a headache Kim Kardashian must have had when she yanked her hair back into a Tomb Raider braid. Paris Hilton's equally tightly-pulled-back 'do was more reminiscent of when she channeled Barbara Eden on an episode of American Dreams (Victoria Beckham sported a similar I Dream of Jeannie style for an Armani ad earlier this year).

But Salma Hayek got it right. Her ponytail is high enough to make a statement but loose enough so as not to cause an instant face-lift.

Jena Malone, Dakota Fanning, Barbie

Dakota Fanning showed off the '70s socks-with-sandals fashion statement this week while filming a scene for her upcoming movie set in that decade. But it looks like the trend is making a comeback, which is adorable for adolescents and models channeling Barbie. We're just not so sure anyone past their teenage years can successfully pull it off. Jena Malone makes one thing certain, though: If you're going to attempt this look, do not wear sheer trouser socks.

Fergie

Fergie always leaves us wondering what fashion disaster she's going to sport next. There have been hippie headbands, ankle-monitoring bands and a harness, which made another appearance today in New York City. Fergie-Fergs was in the Big Apple performing with the Black Eyed Peas for the Today Show's concert series in what has to be one of her most shocking getups yet. Those striped talons look like an eagle on acid perched on top of a bird handler's pimped-out leather glove. Forget that boom boom pow, Fergie gotta get-get some new nails!

Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Audrina Patridge

Belly buttons have been in hiding too long, at least according to fashion designers. Alexander Wang, House of Holland, Proenza Schouler and Phillip Lim showcased crop tops on their spring 2009 catwalks, and now Hollywood is embracing the trend. We wouldn't necessarily put our tummies on show, but we don't mind seeing a slip of skin now and then—as long as the rest of the outfit is fairly demure, like Mischa Barton's crew-neck tee and moderate-length high-waist skirt. Audrina Patridge's off-the-shoulder netting and Lindsay Lohan's Daisy Dukes, on the other hand, take the look from kinda cute to kinda trashy. Would you wear the trend?
