White House Black Market Red Velvet Jacket

What can I do to get the popular vamp look without overdoing it?
—Jessica, via the
Ask Style inbox

Style Spy Says: Berry

Vampire mania isn't going anywhere, especially with the second installment of the Twilight saga, New Moon, coming out on Friday. For those who don't like it, too bloody bad! It's even spilled into the style world. When the dark trend is done subtly, it can look dead sexy. Otherwise, piling on too many vampy elements will make you look like a Hot Topic employee.

Elizabeth Arden Intrigue Indigo Eye Shadow

Can you please tell me which makeup looks I should be wearing this season?
—Victoria,
via the Ask Style inbox

Style Spy Says: Berry

To put it briefly: Unexpected color. Makeup artists are in love with blue and purple eye shadows. Bronze is also making a comeback in a big way; I attended a photo shoot the other day featuring the stunning Abbie Cornish; the bronze shade used by the makeup artist made her honey-colored eyes all the more unforgettable.

CoverGirl Simply Ageless Foundation

I would love to find the perfect foundation for a dewy look, a full coverage look and a last-all-day look. I am not afraid to spend the money because I want my confidence back!
—Mira, via the Ask Style inbox

Style Spy Says: Berry

My testers and I have sifted through dozens of brands, happily recommending our favorites in the "dewy" department, plus what works well for full coverage.

Now, onward to a new category: the long-lasting foundation. Great news on that front. Several of our testers singled out a brand that almost anyone can afford: CoverGirl. The brand recently rolled out their Simply Ageless foundation, which combines foundation with the anti-aging ingredients found in Olay products, and the results are sensational.

Becca Stick Foundation
StyleTest Drive

Last week, I clued you in on mystyle's fave makeup for providing a fresh, dewy finish for the skin. But you also asked about full-coverage-style foundation, and my testers have submitted their favorites. Here they are for your enjoyment.

First thing you should know: Most of the best full-coverage foundations, such as Becca or MAC, come in stick form. When in doubt, reach for the stick.

La Mer Foundation

I would love to find the perfect foundation for a dewy look, a full coverage look and a last-all-day look. I am not afraid to spend the money because I want my confidence back!
—Mira, via the Ask Style inbox

Style Spy Says: Berry

Let's start with dewy foundations. Of course much will depend on whether the line carries your shade—not always a guarantee, given that some lines carry as few as three or four shades!

Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen

After suffering from vanishing eyebrow syndrome, Mary-Kate Olsen has returned to a normal-looking brow. But twin Ashley has gone the other extreme, with an '80s Brooke Shields power brow—except Brooke wasn't blond.

As much as we love a full brow, the contrast is a little too dramatic. On the other hand, it certainly beats all the bleaching that went on at Fashion Week that led to the question "Where have all the eyebrows gone?"

Of course, natural is best, but if you had to do one of the beauty trends, which would you choose?

Clinique High Impact Lip Color

For the days when I'm running short on time and I only have time to apply a few makeup products, what should I reach for?
—Lindsey, via the Ask Style inbox

Lipstick Queen
StyleTest Drive

It's hard to find the right shade of red lipstick. But Lipstick Queen claims its Vitamin E-based sheer cherry tint, Medieval ($20), is universally flattering. Read on to see what we thought of it.

Christy Ann L.

Pros: I was able to control the intensity of the sexy red color.
Cons: I had to reapply after half an hour—my lips looked like I just drank a glass of Hawaiian Punch.

Mya

Singer and Dancing With the Stars front-runner Mya gave us a peek at her personal style during Susan G. Komen's Fashion for the Cure Benefit...

What She's Stylin': I chose this particular Diane von Furstenberg dress because blue is one of my favorite colors. It looks great on my skin; it's not too bright and not too dark—and it matches my stitches!

Fashion Philosophy: I really like to be comfortable, but sometimes that's not realistic in fashion. But I am a sucker for heels. Heels will definitely make an outfit look so fierce, even with a simple pair of jeans.

Beauty Trick: For a dewy look, I use a serum or even Vaseline on my cheek bones to highlight them. I give them moisture instead of apply makeup. Shimmer or bronzer tend to break people out.

Curly or Straight Hair?: I really prefer straight because I don't get to have it that way all the time. As soon as I dance or sweat or get in the pool, my hair curls up. Of course, we want what we can't have!

Heidi Klum Exotic Jewels Makeup
StyleTest Drive

Supermodel Heidi Klum's new limited-edition makeup collection, Exotic Jewels ($13-$22), isn't available at Victoria's Secret until next week. But we made a point to get our hands on the cosmetics—lip gloss, lipstick, Glitter Liquid Eyeliner, Luminous Face Powder Gems, eye shadows and extra-length mascara—before then. Her skincare line was an instant hit! The line sure boasts an alluring and rich palette, but will it do wonders for our look? Is the makeup easy to use? Keep reading to find out!

Cala R.

Pros: The eye shadows looked amazing together. The lip gloss lasted all day.
Cons: Purple lashes aren't appropriate for every day. The lipstick wasn't very moisturizing, so I always had to use the gloss over it.
