Running in Heels, Talita

Hello, Everyone!

I have to apologize for this week's blog being exceptionally long. As the show has come to an end and this is my final one, I have so much to say. Please bear with me and thank you for taking the time to read it.

I want to clarify some things as some of you were a bit confused last week by how friendly I was towards Sam. Some thought it was "fake." What you may not know is that we filmed for five, sometimes six days a week for nine to eleven hours a day. What you get to see on the show is only a tiny part of a week, and so much happens in between each episode, most of which, unfortunately, you don't get to see. Which is why two weeks ago, Sam and I were fighting like cats and dogs and then the next week, I stuck up for her in my blog and/or talked nice about her. Sam and I had a special connection when we first met (for all you perverts, not that kind of connection!). In the beginning, she was like a little sister to me and I protected her. She helped me out so much with taking care of Chanel when I had to work on the weekend during Fashion Week, etc. She is a good person and even though we did have some bumps, we worked it out, thank God. For a while I just loved to hate her but now I have nothing but love for her.

Yo!

Is it a freaking joke that yours truly had her "Love and Sex diary" story chosen to be featured in the pages of Marie Claire?

Holy shiznit, no!

Yes, the one who at one time had her writing and work torn apart by the editors due to horrible spelling and grammar will now have a story published! Just pick up the May issue of Marie Claire and turn to the back, where the Love and Sex section is, and you will see my diary.

Wow! Has the heat started burning things up at the Marie Claire offices this week or what? Better still, did the lovely queen herself, Ms. Joanna Coles, heat things up? Good Lord!

I have to confess that I did hate getting caught up in the drama with Samantha last week. I was trying so hard from the beginning of the internship to stay out of drama, but we all have "that side" to us. The three of us lived in a one-bedroom apartment, shared one bathroom, and had to work together every day, so unfortunately, the drama came into the workplace. But thank God I was forced to grow up real quick.

Hi, my little lovers and haters!

Wow, I hope you were highly entertained by tonight's episode, as much as I was. During this time, I really felt like I was growing in terms of my internship at MC and that I was making the most out of my experience—and I think it shows.

Having Joyce, one of my heroes, ask me to attend the Banana Republic show and to help her out backstage while she interviewed Simon Kneen, the new creative director, was such an honor. I felt so lucky. It just so happened that I chose to wear a Banana Republic sweater that day. A coincidence? I think not!

Hello, all you Talita fans!

Um, okay, let me get humble here and start off by saying how disappointed I am in myself for complaining so much and whining in this week's episode. It is very unprofessional, and even though I kept it between Ashley and me, I don't want to be perceived as the baby or the ungrateful one. I was just doing what interns do best, which is hustle and sweat. Even though the day of the beauty sale was by far one of the most stressful (by the end, I felt as if I had run a marathon!), I felt very satisfied with the work I put in—and that's what matters most. Shame on me for whining about it, though, and making it known. That was a big no-no.

Hello, all my dearest friends...

Thank you for tuning in to another episode of Running in Heels. Hopefully my fellow roommates and I kept you on your feet—no pun intended. Okay, I'm boring you already. So sorry.

I know I will get hated on for how the show opens with us discussing what jobs we want, and I jokingly say how I hope I'm not the one working with the divas. At this point, the roommates and I just tried to bring humor into the game because it was a very stressful time for all of us. So, no, I don't think I'm better then anybody else, or wish anybody to be thrown under the bus.

Hello, all you fashionistas—or should I say lovers?

Anyway, once again I am torn apart for not being perfect and having spelling mistakes on a project. I know, it's getting old…

By the way, I have to mention that I want to be Joanna Coles when I grow up, and that is why I even interned at Marie Claire. I mean, seriously, getting to go to Milan for the shows and having your own personal stylist to dress you for them must be nice. But I know Joanna started where I did—so thank you, Joanna, for setting the bar way high for us!

Running in Heels, Talita

Understandably, my first day in New York City had me on my toes and feeling every emotion that exists. There was the overwhelming feeling of being in a new city, where my lifestyle would suddenly change, and there was the fear and anxiety over moving in with two roommates who were completely different from me. I was used to living only with the love of my life, my puppy Chanel.

I had no idea what was coming my way. When I met my fellow interns, my first impression was that Samantha and I would be very close—that she would be like a little sister to me. I also thought Ashley and I would not get along. Her reaction to Chanel totally set the tone for me. I felt she was going to be one of my biggest problems, when the last thing I needed, with everything else that was coming my way, was to be stressed over Chanel.

Running in Heels, the Style Network's new behind-the-scenes look at Marie Claire, premieres this Sunday @ 8/7c—but you can sneak a peek at the full first episode on Fancast.com! Just click here now.

Talita, 24, was born in Brazil and moved to the U.S. at the age of 7. She grew up in Southern California and earned a degree in fashion merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in L.A. After college, she worked at the Guess Jeans corporate headquarters for two years before deciding to go into publishing. Keep reading for her take on filming the series.

Ever since I first visited New York at the age of 15, one of my biggest dreams has been to move there. Everything about it—the people, the energy, the style, the culture, the way of life—attracted me! So this was my opportunity to experience this amazing city.

Between the cameras watching my every move and the intensity of the internship, this has been by far the most challenging but rewarding thing I have ever done. Previously I lived alone, but for the internship, I had to move in with two other girls who were so completely different from me. I was made uncomfortable in every way—and had to let go of my ways in order to grow. One word that comes to mind is perseverance. The experience reminded me of when I ran cross country in high school.

While working in the features department at Marie Claire, I discovered my talent and passion for journalism. And now, armed with this piece of knowledge, I intend to run with it!
