Hi, my sweet, sweet friends!

Thank you so much for all your love, support, prayers and friendship to me on my journey. Thank you for helping one another on my mystyle blog, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace! The most rewarding part of this journey to me is watching the humanity we have shown to each other. I have received your emails, letters and comments!

Y'all, this holiday I want us to think of others and show them love like we never have. Smile and say hi to a stranger, open the door for someone, think of the special people in your life who give their all to you daily! Say hi to a homeless person and watch out for who is lonely. There are people everywhere who do not have a roof over their head, people who are truly starving to death. Invite them over or just have coffee with them. There are so many lonely people who have no one to hug them or to say I love you! There are many without jobs. There are many who do not have a heater on a cold night!

There are many out there dying from a disease or an addiction, and sometimes all they need is a hello or someone to talk to for just five minutes. Give someone a dollar, a hug, a big smile; make someone laugh; just say hello and give a helping hand, or grab their hand a say a prayer for them. It will change their lives more than you will ever know. You will help them believe they are special, because they truly are! You will make them believe in themselves and humanity. Remember, some of these people can be sitting right under our noses. Open your eyes and be aware! One day this could be us. Miracles happen every single day: A child is healed from cancer, someone gets a new and better job, someone is beating disease and addiction. Miracles, miracles, miracles!

Let me start off today with this cold, hard fact: Every day in the U.S., thousands of people are dying from ADDICTIONS: smoking, drinking, drugs...and OBESITY.

WOW!

I am fighting this battle daily. I have fought this since I can remember. This is an addiction that goes so much deeper than I realized. How do we get control over something that has taken control over us?

People battle with all sorts of things in their lives: alcohol, drugs, gambling, porn, food, etc. But we cannot let the addiction define who we are. My passion is God and people. I love to laugh and have fun! I love people.

I have a huge battle, a battle I have fought all my life. But, as we all can see, we all are fighting the same battle. Whether you struggle with 20 pounds or hundreds of pounds, it is a battle.

We can't give up this fight. I know we all have issues, but live your life. Enjoy it no matter what size you are. There are great people out there who will help us, advise us. But when it is all said and done, we face this beast one on one. Will we win today or lose? What brings us here? Why is it some days we can beat it and others we can't?

My show is now premiering in AUSTRALIA on Tuesdays @ 8:20p! Georgia and I were there for the launch. I fell in love with Australia; the people were so nice! It was beautiful. I loved all of it. I met many amazing people—went on a pirate ship and learned to sail and be a pirate, hung out with the koalas and kangaroos (there is a story there), went to Bondi Beach and walked the cliffs...I was definitely an outdoorsy girl and made lifelong friends! Click here and here to see pics from the trip! :0)

The BEST thing about Australia? I accomplished the biggest feat of my life, and you all will get to watch that miracle that happen to me. I am so hacky to tell ya'll that you will be going to Australia with me, because we filmed the entire trip. YAY!

I am in L.A. until November 26 shooting an episode for the third season, and during the holidays I will be writing you all back.

You can't hit a home run unless you step up to the plate. You can't catch fish unless you put your line in the water. You can't reach your goals if you don't try.

Please keep fighting with me and trust me when I tell you it is worth trying to beat your addiction and reach for your dreams! Yes, we are worth it! Yes, we have what it takes to cross over! Yes, we can do it!

Y'all are inspiring me! I am so proud of every one of you for fighting with me and making changes. YOU, my friends, are AMAZING to me. Many of us are fighting some kind of BEAST, and for the first time in our lives we are WINNING!

Drew Edmonds, Shazia Edmonds

Ruby's trainers, Drew and Shazia Edmonds of Train Me 24/7, are here to share some tips that'll help you start and maintain a successful fitness program.

1. Start Small. Many people view a fitness program as an all-or-nothing proposition. We believe that making small changes now will lead to big changes long-term. Want some painless swaps? Try replacing soft drinks with water, dessert with 10-minute "metabo" walks around the neighborhood, or family TV time with play time in the park. Too much change at once can become overwhelming and lead to burnout, so take it one small step at a time. Success will follow!

2. Set Goals. Without goals, it is difficult to measure the success of a fitness program. Be sure to set realistic, measurable and time-specific goals. A goal can be anything from pounds or inches lost to a specific number of workouts completed by a selected date. Ruby loves setting goals to keep herself motivated!

Note: This week's episode featured the songs "Everything" by Rob Blackledge and "Gotta Figure This Out" by Erin McCarley.

Hi, y'all! Thanks for watching the season finale this week.

The weight loss camp was amazing, and the kids I met there were too. I loved their spirit! But it was a HUGE reminder to me that society does not accept us. These children have the most beautiful souls and so much love to give. People will never know what they are missing out on by refusing to look beyond someone's shell. I pray all of us can change this starting today, and the first person we need to fix is ourselves.

When I started out on this journey, I never imagined that all that has happened was even possible. God has blessed me every step of the way with all of y'all! I always believed there were more good people in this world than bad, and the support y'all have shown me confirms that.

Y'all have truly been on this journey with me. You saw me go cold turkey from junk food to Ourlife Fresh, and you witnessed how I went from hating it—so much that I felt like I was being punished—to loving it! You've watched me with my family and friends and at Women's Fat Night. (I love my girls!) Y'all have seen my ex-boyfriend Denny come back  into my life. You've seen me go up and down on the scales and have been there with me in my darkest hours, when I lost my hero, my Daddy, and also my rebel and baby, Lucy.

Southern food, fresh and simple, is enjoyed throughout the United States. It's rich, filling and aromatic—but often not so healthy. Anything buttered, smothered, battered or fried adds extra calories that lead to overweight. But Southern food can be made healthier without surrendering that down-home taste.

Whether it's soul food, Creole, Cajun or barbecue, the bottom line is: Cut the Fat. Your food choices and cooking techniques can make all the difference between a healthy dish and an unhealthy one.

Ruby Gettinger, Lucy

Hi, y'all.

This week's episode was very moving, heartbreaking and sensitive to me. I still can't believe my baby, Lucy, is gone.

My heart is truly broken, and there will always be a huge gap inside me until I see my Lucy again. I can't believe she is gone. My baby is gone, and I can't believe it. I want to share with y'all a letter I wrote to Lucy:

Lucy, the day you were born, God chose me to be your mommy. You gave me the best days of my life. You are my little rebel, fighter till the end! I will miss your soft stomach and the thousands of kisses you gave me a day! No one will ever be so happy to see me like you were. I never had love like yours and Foxy's, and I want to thank you for giving me so much love. Lucy, the best gift you gave me was your sweet eyes! No one will ever look at me like you did. Through your eyes, I felt more love than I deserved. Lucy, Foxy misses you and looks all over for you. My heart and soul will always long for you. Thank you so much for loving me, thank you for your smiles, kisses, sweet eyes and following me everywhere I went, and for how every time you saw me or heard my voice your tail would wag so fast! How ironic that dog spelled backwards is GOD! You both love unconditionally. Lucy, thank you so much for fighting so hard to live for me. I truly know you gave all you had not to leave me. I love you! Foxy and I miss you every second.

Ruby Gettinger, Ruby: Season 2

Hi, y'all! I wanted to talk to you about this week's episode.

This has been the toughest time in my life. My father died earlier this year, and my baby Lucy has been very ill—sick with kidney failure, ironically, the same illness my daddy died from. (You'll see more of that struggle next week.) The worst heartbreak in life to me is to lose a parent! I am still grieving my father's death. The other heartbreak is to lose a child. Even though I do not have a human child, Foxy and Lucy have become my children. I would do anything to keep them with me forever. But the saddest reality about this life is that forever does not exist, even though I believe in heaven and know I will see my father again.

With all this said, I have had a huge setback! But I need to clarify what happened...

Hi, y'all! I can never say thank you enough for all your prayers, friendships and love to me on my journey! I have met so many wonderful friends through the message board, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and my Walk Across America. I can't believe all the success stories and battles still being fought—we are finally facing our beast and taking him to the boxing ring, and this time we will not leave until we win.

I am so HACKY to finally be under 350 for the first time in my adult life. That first bike ride was unbelievable. Talk about freedom! Your hair blowing in the wind and sun shining on your face...I felt like the hand of God was on me that day!

Yes! I call the gynecologist the Christmas Doctor.

And thank God for my friends Leslie and Georgia for making me go.

It is not comfortable to go for any woman, especially my size. But I have to say, I never knew how important regular checkups are! It could save your life if you go. If there's something wrong with you, early detection could prevent you from dying. YAY! Please go get checked.

Walking my first 5k for cancer was a miracle—meeting these survivors gave me a true mind transformation.

Through all of this I have found out we all are fighting our own beast. We all should stand together as one human race, not divide each other by income, education, color, nationality, religion, weight, the way we love, etc. And realize in one sec we could be in someone else's shoes—our life can change that fast. We win when we love one another by words and action. We fight every day and never give up.  When you see your neighbor giving up, you carry them back to the boxing ring! Fight and never give up and help one another, and you will see the giant you have become. You'll cross your finish line!

Be the friend you want someone to be to you!
